Exactly one title and one canonical
Core’s own title and canonical callbacks are removed inside wp_head rather than at plugin load — a block theme registers its title later, and removing it too early leaves two on the page. Measured on a live site.

Most SEO plugins add their title next to the one WordPress already printed, their canonical next to core’s, and their structured data in four separate script blocks that never reference each other. MevvSEO removes core’s output first and writes everything in a single pass: one title, one canonical, one @graph in which the page, the site, the breadcrumb and the product are linked by @id. It knows WooCommerce, so filter and sort addresses stay out of the index, and it imports from Yoast and Rank Math without touching their data.

Structured data as one linked graph
Organization, WebSite, WebPage, BreadcrumbList, Product with Offer and Article in a single @graph, joined by @id. Printed as separate blocks, those links cannot be made and the nodes read as separate pages.
No rating without reviews
AggregateRating is printed only when the product actually has reviews. Sending a rating with zero reviews is one of Google’s stated reasons for a structured data penalty.
Filter and sort URLs stay out of the index
?orderby=, ?filter_, ?add-to-cart= and search results are marked noindex automatically. Left indexable, the endless variations of one product list compete with the category page that should rank.
A sitemap that leaves out what should not be in it
Core’s wp-sitemap is switched off and its addresses are redirected here, so a sitemap already submitted to Search Console keeps working. Author archives are never generated, and no URL you marked noindex is ever listed.
Sharing cards with a four-step fallback
Open Graph and Twitter tags fall back from the record’s own image to the featured image to the site default. If all three are empty no image tag is printed at all — an empty og:image is worse than none.
A migration that does not burn the bridge
Yoast and Rank Math metadata is copied into MevvSEO’s own fields, %%variable%% syntax and all, and the source is left exactly where it was. Switch back whenever you like.
